Showing prominent, scaly, malar erythema. Involvement of other sun-exposed sites is also common.  

 

Violaceous, hyperpigmented atrophic plaques, often with evidence of follicular plugging which may result in scarring.

Periorbital violaceous erythema characterizes the classic heliotrope rash.  

 

Often involves the hands as erythematous flat-topped papules over the knuckles.

Showing acral sclerosis and focal digital ulcers.  

 

Characterized by typical expressionless mask like facies.

Erythema multiforme   Erythema nodosum

 

Characterized by multiple erythematous plaques with a target or iris morphology and  represents hypersensitive reaction to drugs.  

 

Is a panniculitis characterized by tender deep-seated nodules and plaques usually located on the lower extremities.

Vasculitis   Pemphigus vulgaris

 

Palpable purpuric papules on the lower legs are seen in this patient with cutaneous small vessel vasculitis.  

 

Demonstrating flaccid bullae which are easily ruptured, resulting in multiple errosions and crusted plaques.

Dermatitis herpetiformis   Bullous pemphigoid

 

Manifested by grouped vesicles in a typical location. Vesicles often excoriated and may occur on knees, buttocks.  

 

With tense vesicles and bullae on an erythematous, urticarial base.
